Life has been happening and brought many changes since we said "I do" in Iowa. We finally moved into a house we had bought in Centerfield a year and a half earlier. Let the projects begin!! And hopefully, one day slow down. So far we have put in a field irrigation system and planted two pastures, put in a lawn and landscaping sprinkling system, laid sod, poured concrete for a patio and remodeled the kitchen to knock out a door to the patio, poured more concrete for a garage, hired my son Colton to build the garage and a horse barn, and fenced a corral. We're just finishing a closet we built clear from scratch. Boy, are we proud of that.

Married on the banks of the Mississippi River

This is us, married, looking out at the big beautiful Mississippi River.
Here we are walking down the aisle-- a path up to a cute little gazebo right on the Mississippi River in Bettendorf, Iowa. Yes, it looks busy by the cars in the background, but it was so secluded. We couldn't restrain the smiles...or the tears of joy.

Getting Married

Well, what I thought wouldn't happen for decades if it happened at all, is happening. I am getting married...to a wonderful WOMAN. Yes, it is the real relationship of my dreams. Noni Dalton and I have chosen to go to Iowa and get married on June 26th. We'll be flying out on the 25th from SLC and landing in Des Moines. From there we will be driving a rental car to Bettendorf, Iowa to pick up our marriage license that will be waiting for us at the Scott County Courthouse. We are anxious to meet Rev. Sheila Rae Sarginson who has treated us like royalty in walking us through the process and will be performing the ceremony in a quaint little gazebo at a park that she arranged for us.

We're so happy that Noni's sisters Lorraine (with Wally, her husband), Linda, and Kathy will be attending since they wouldn't hear of missing it. Lorraine, an excellent photographer, will be snapping photos for us to include on the blog later.

Stay tuned.
